lowering 40 mm

hey guys I have a 1.4 corsa b capital 8 valve super reliable wee car was going to sell but looking at corsa cs and the condition of em for what I was willing to pay I decided to keep my b for a bit longer and get it sorted:) already put a set of c sxi alloys with new tyres this seems to have made my car handle much better but feel im lacking that go kart handling im after lol. was thinkin of lowering 40 mm as my rear struts im convinced are worn ( seem to have a lot of bodyroll going round corners) I wanna keep it standard looking and not on its arse just want something thats responsive in corners as being sohc its never going to be a rocket lol and tidy looking:) if I lower it 40 mm will I need spacers etc for wheels or have to get tracking done, ideally wanna just get new struts and springs all made for 40 mm put em on and feel the difference, any you guys know where to buy decent shocks n springs from?? cheers

You'll need shortened shocks with 40 mil springs and to buy a full kit of shortened shocks and springs you'll be paying 160-180(decent brand) and you can get a set of jom/prosport coilovers for 200(front coilovers and rear springs with adjusters and uprated shocks)

So it depends on your budget really, and eBay is as good a place to buy just buy from an eBay shop not private listing

thanks mate was looking at ebay stuff and did see some good shocks and springs for bout 150 only thing is I keep sein em for 16 valve engines gsi etc not for a 8 valve im assumming if I bought a 16 v set I wont get car lowered to 40 mm as my engine is lighter etc

No that doesn't really mean anything lol it's more keywords than anything else all Corsa suspension is the same till you get to 2ltr

thinking about getting coiloves I seen on ebay. any u guys know what the deal is with the rear shocks that have the spring on the shock rather than the axle. is this just a different design that does away with the coil spring pretty much wedged between rear axle and floor,

There rear coilovers, only the main big brands make them really so there normally dear but they are much better than the original shock spring set up

cool so all rear coilovers are like that then suppose that makes sense when it comes to adjusting em lol. they just go straight in place then and completley do away with axle springs seems a much better idea ;)
