Just got the wifes old and cheap corsa

ok, so I collected the £495 corsa, the one that has ripped me off.
Beautiful bronze colour, real nice (matches her mobile phone as well)
Things I know about from the drive home (it was dark)

1. Sun visor clip broken so need to replace that
2. Stopped at garage to fill her up, and was very difficult to get started again, had to put the pedal to the floor before she would start?

Anyone got the sun visor clip for sale, drivers side (the bit in the middle that it clips into)

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to start with the start problem, once she is going stopping at lights etc she is almost silent, and no issue to keep going, but when I eventually did get her started she revs real high for a short while (30 seconds or less) then idle went to normal.

Im no mechanic, have tinkered with her classic mini engine, thats fairly easy this will likely be very different.

I will pay for someone to look at her, if it can be fixed perm. Before I purchased her, when I started her the first time, she ran but when I put the foot down a little it seems to have no power and no rev at all, then after a short while she came to life and seemed to be fine, so I guess this is related to the issue I had above.

Many thanks to any that can advise (I am in Maidstone by the way)

sounds like the idle control valve or throttle position sensor, they are a common problem with the corsa. Hope this helps.

I know someone that had warm start problems that was related to the coolant temperature sensor. It if starts fine cold all the time but trouble once warm all the time, it could be something to have in mind. The stange high idle problem is something I do not know about. Sorry.

I am having the most bizarre week, really.

Sold the mini
Purchased a corsa which turned out to be a dog with the worst case of fleas
Purchased another corsa, much better car
Got call 3 days after and father in law is giving us his 4 year old Fiesta Zetec

So now I have a nice corsa to sell with MOT and Road tax, a nice ish corsa to sell with MOT no road tax

Thing is I myself have a Volvo S80, rarely drive the wifes car (except when she had the mini) and so we dont need 2 legal cars, the fiesta is alot newer than the corsa, and the insurance is only slightly more, but still less than the mini cooper was, so we have no choice but to get rid of both the corsas, one with MOT and tax the other with just MOT.
