Hello everyone ,
My engine recently blew and i had no power on the motorway unless i was redlining in 2nd i managed to roll along (its not healthy but i had NO CHOICE or NO MONEY)
i took the head off and found the bugger.
so as a result i am going to need a new head, as this is a 14NV i doubt i will ever find a 14NV head to replace it, i was wondering if someone would be able to give me a list of all the 8V HEADS which will match this pattern on my block :
plus if anyone had one for sale that would be even better:)
Thanks guys!

Well the 2ltr prob doesn't fit but the 1.2,1.4,1.6 use the same block with different size chambers, but the stud pattern should be the same

Johnny is right so you shouldn't have any difficulty finding a head off a car for parts

If you go for a bigger head ie 1.6 it'll lower compression and should increase top speed
A smaller head will increase the compression and increase acceleration but you adjust the timing to compensate for this by setting it retarded and advance for the bigger head

thankyou
well theres a nova sport at the local scrappy which i got the rocker cover from, so that could be an option, or my brothers snap on man owns a bundle of heads, one is a 1.4 8v with high lift cam, if failing either i will search for a 1.6 8v
probably from a mk4 astra or something

The nova heads are meant to be good for the little B

I'd get another 1.4 head if you can, any engine code will do but if it's 1.4 it'll be fairly close to the same compression ratings
