Hi, I've a problem with my car, it's a petrol 1.0 12v 1999 and is loosing power with a bigger gear on and when that happen the motor light turn on.
I already read that that problem can be cause by a malfunction of the MAF or EGR, so I'm trying to see if it's possible repair that before buy new ones.
I bought a wynns egr petrol cleaner and I know that I've to spray that into the air sistem but my question is, I have to open the air sistem to spray the can into, before or after the MAF?
There's anyone that can help? I'm pretty new at this.
Thanks

tbh I find they don't normally take to a clean and its easier to block it off all together
If it doesn't fit,
force it,
If it breaks,
It needed replacing anyway

Can I just remove the maf and connect the air filter directly?

If you want yeah or for the time it will take just spray it straight down the throttle body

Re: Cleaning egr with Wynns EGR cleaner
Finally i got time to try to rescue my car that I believed that he was good just to scrap.
I change the air filter, add some motor oil "cleaner", a petrol additive and the Wynns egr cleaner throw the air sistem...
I've been driving now so much better, the diference is incredible, this product from Wynns is £10 but is very well worth it.
My engine light still goes on sometimes when I'm in 5 gear and I press the accelerator to much, but is manageable. But this light used to go on any time in any gear and every time that that happened i used to lost a lot of power, was almost impossible to go uphill, now is so much better and especially in the first 3 gears I have a lot more power. Even the engine sounds better.
I think this product don't make any miracle but is so well worth it.
