Removing plastic bump strips? How hard?

Right I think I've come to the decision to remove the black plastic bump strips that are on the side of my corsa.

How hard are these to Remove without damaging the paint work? My plan was to be steady with the girlfriends hairdryer and apply heat gently and remove them slowly.

What do I do if any residue is left?

If anyones done this before and can share any advice on this I would be great!

Many thanks

I did this afew weeks back, white shouldn't be that bad, but we used a heat gun to get the edges up and then carry on heating making sure you get the sticky back pad is being taken with it, then after we razor'd the surface very carefully to get rid of big chunks care of your paint if you do this, or just get some goo remover or similar products and just keep rubbing and picking the sticky bits up it does take a long time! Then t cut the area to try blend the brighter colour in from behind the strips

How I did mine

1 apply heat with either a hair dryer or heatgun on low
2 slowly peel them away from the doors
3 use a toffee wheel on any left over glue ( don't press wheel again the door glid it over the glue)
4 use some tar and glue remover
5 give the doors a really good polish

should come up nice and tidy without damaging the paintwork
