Right guys I am planning to do the engine conversion from 1.2 8v SPI to a 1.6 8v MPI

Is it just a case of removing my 1.2 with the loom and ecu and replacing with the 1.6 loom ecu and engine it its place ?

You need an MPI fuel pump

Does your car have an immobiliser?

As @Johnny says you need the MPI fuel pump as the MPI runs at a higher fuel pressure.

So would the mpi fuel pump out of, lets say an astra, work?

Yeah pretty much, uses same size shafts and everything else, you can run your own gear box but the ratios will be off abit but not enough that you'll feel like it should do more

As stance said just a mpi pump out of an astra or corsa with mpi

I'll pm you about the immobiliser, most will know what I'm going to say but it's just something I don't want to post on a public forum
