Will an old pollen filter be part of the reason that my car fogs up so much?

Yes! They are supposed to be changed every. 15,000 miles or yearly, which ever comes first. When the leaves and other particles get trapped in it they also draw moisture which is what causes the fogging.

For a £5er I don't understand why people don't change them!

When you take it out just imagine breathing through it and you'll change it regularly

Always replace with GM when doing a service to my B

GM oil and filter
pollen filter
spark plugs I go for NGK iridium
air filter gets cleaned out as I have a pipercross panel filter

GM oil is the best for them and isn't badly priced!
