Corsa B aftermarket steering wheel

Hi guys,
Possibly going to swap the horrible standard wheel for a nice 330mm suede one.
Just a few questions on it, as mines got an airbag.
1) Will it still pass a MOT with a suede steering wheel on?
2) How long to leave the battery disconnected so the airbag loses it explosive charge?
3) How hard is it to get the standard bugger of the spline?
I know that I'll have to get a steering wheel boss kit that has a airbag bypass cable with it, as I'll need to keep the airbag light off!
If anybody can answer these questions and give me some advice on this?
Many thanks.....

It will pass MOT with a suede steering wheel on yeah, I've got a 350mm dished one to go on mine.
not sure on how long you leave it disconnected for but google can help you on that side I reckon.
It is pretty hard but you can just bang the spline with a hammer while your pulling it towards you.
Also I've got a link to a vauxhall boss kit if needed, but you'll have to buy the bypass cable desperately mate.

Cheers mate, I've got my eye on a OMP boss kit on ebay, comes with the bypass cable supplied,
I'm tempted to leave it disconnected over night, last thing I want is that going off in my face!
Regards.....

If the car had an airbag then the tester can fail it even if the light is off, but it depends on how much attention the tester pays to things like that

Disconnect the batt over night aswell, an hour is ment to be plenty but I always wait at least 3, and do you have somewhere to dispose of the airbag? It's not really somethin you want lying about

That's what I'm afraid of johnny, last thing I want is for the tester to be an arse and say "if it's supposed to have a airbag......it needs a airbag!"
I was gonna leave it overnight just to be on the safe side, and I do all my work round my best mates who lives out in the fens, so his back garden is a massive field.
Was just gonna run a long wire to it......touch it on a 12v battery.......and watch it go bang in the field! Haha
Many thanks.....
