CV joint replacement?

So my car starting making loud clunking/creaking noises when turning. Used to be only if I had full or nearly full lock, but recently got a lot worse. Based on what I've read on this forum and elsewhere, it's most likely the CV joint.

1.) Is this probably correct?
2.) Is it dangerous to just ignore it for a few months until the next MOT (when it will probably fail for other reasons)?
3.) I don't know if it's just one or both CV joints that are knackered, but in any case is it usual to just replace both of them at the same time?

Cheers,

Kev

It definitely sounds like cv joints

Try throwing grease into the the boot and make sure it's not ripped

Alot of the time the boot is ripped or came off and the joints are still perfect it's just there dry so you can hear them knocking

I finally got round to having a look and taking some pictures. Yes, one of the joints obviously needs replacing. The odd thing though is it's on the passenger side, but when I'm driving around I swear the noise sounds like it comes from right underneath my feet. Anyway I took some pictures of all 4 CV joints . Apart than the obvious one, do you think the other 3 look OK just based on what you see here? Should I bother to replace only the inner left hand side CV joint?

Driver's side inner joint (don't know what the spider web wire stuff is on the axle):

Driver's side outer joint, looks pretty clean:

Passenger side inner joint, looks knackered and most of the grease has leaked out:

Passenger side outer joint, seems to be a lot of grease and muck near the wheel, but not really sure if it's the joint leaking or not:

Ma genius :jezza:

Yeah they look fine mate, last one seems to be missing a clip which is probably why the grease is slowly coming out

But again if there not ripped or perished throw some grease in them and clip them back on
