Been trying to get my head around if theres a way to make this work? Surely i could get a gaitor without the lift up bit and basically manually lift up the mechanism on a string or something? So i could then get this gear stick



Any ideas people?

Im sure the lift to reverse is easily removed

Do you really want to have to reach for a plastic dick every time you change gear?

I like them tbh the light up ones are even cooler. First thing to do is open remove the gear stick gaiter and have a good look at the lift to reverse mechanism, then try remove or disable it so that you no longer have to lift to reverse, then probably tap threads into your gear stick to thread the dildo gear knob onto it

I do like them! They look awesome! Seen them on mx5's ill take a look into if i could make a mechanism to get the lift up even if its a flick switch i dunno

So just had a quick look and it seems that if you cut out the pale yellow plastic to the right of my finger, you would no longer have to lift the stick to put the car into reverse. That picture is taken from the front of the car facing back.

Or on second thought you could try remove or cut the white piece thats on the gear stick to the left of my finger

But if i do that then i could maybe select reverse instead of first? That could be a disaster haha

What if you rounded the lip so that when your go to reverse you just put pressure on pushing left? Kind of hard to explain, but that way you would know if you were going into reverse

This may be a better explination, when you pull the lift to reverse on the gear stick it lifts the white piece so it will reach over the yellow step, but if you rounded the step so you no longer had to lift the white piece then you could just push left on the gear stick and with abit of pressure you would feel it going past the position for 1st gear

Thanks, it would be really cool as you dont see the drift knob in corsas at all i got the idea from the lexus is200, they dont have lift or push down reverse but they need a good bit of pressure to get past first. They also beep when in reverse which would be even better if you could do that haha

Yeah i just think they look amazing! Really? Id have to be careful surely if i make it so i hve to put loads of pressure on it i could break something?

Yea but take off small bits at a time and keep trying it till you get it perfect for your own liking
