Scraping noise while steering/braking

Hi guys,
Just drove from my house to my girlfirends (2 miles), and after about a mile started to here a scraping/grinding noise as I was steering and also when I was braking.
It seems to come more from when I'm steering and from what I can here its coming from the drivers side front wheel. I replaced both front discs and pads about 700 miles ago and have had no problems up until now. I don't think its coming from the brakes as they look perfect (no groves or scratches).
I
The noise only seems to come at low speed as far as I know (haven't been driving quick to here it). I can jack my car up in the week to have a look but am just writing on here in the mean time for a bit of help.
If anybody has any suggestions or has had this happen to them before? And has any idea what it could be?
Many thanks.....

Would the plastic arch lining be hitting the tyre?

I'd say it's the brake disc against the dust shield on whatever side the sound is coming from, simple fix just push the dust shield back

Sometimes a stone can get trapped between the disc and dust shield as well

It hasn't made a noise for the ever since I've done them, but its a good shout, I've got to drive home later, so I'll listen to it and see if I can source it.
Both the discs look perfect on the outside, so it could be coming from the inside, hopefully I'll be able to jack it up tomorrow as well and have a good look also.
Regards.......

Right guys,
Just got in from the drive home from my girlfriends, sounds like its a front drivers side brake problem as I can hear that its a rotational grinding/squeaking.
It seems to do it more when I'm steering right. I went down a quite road and threw it side to side which didn't do a lot, Then did some heavy braking which made it disappear on and off.
When I got back on the main road I pulled over then set off again, as soon as i steered right to pull out, it squealed quite loud then started to grind at the same time, then that wore off after about 10 seconds. It was then on and off again
Then I gave it the beans for a few roundabouts and I didn't seem to hear it until I accelerated then backed off. It was grinding slightly when I pulled up back home and I drove forwards and backwards a couple of times. I could here the rotational noise of something on the drivers side.
The only thing I can think of is that like Blackie said, there might be a stone or something stuck on the front brake between the caliper and disc!?
Sorry for the essay!!! Its the only way I can describe best on whats going on! lol
Many thanks......

Like I say, check the dust shield behind the disc

Tbh that would have been what I did first. I can't imagine ragging your car around roundabouts is going to help it if it's a grinding, especially if it is a stone or the dust shield

Right guys, All sorted!!!!
I whipped the wheel off today, and had a good look around.
The dust shield was very rusty and a large chunk of rust had chipped off and wedged itself between the dust cover and the disc, hence the scraping/grinding metal noise I was hearing.
It was a simple fix of removing the brake caliper, pads, mounting bracket and brake disc then giving it a good wire brushing and a bit of a bend back for clearance.
Cheers for all the help and replies fellas!
Many thanks again........
