Repsray advice

Hi all,

I removed the rub strips from my Corsa on Saturday and it's managed to pull loads of paintwork off just on my drivers side door :@ I did the rest just fine though

The way I see it I've got two choices, re-spray the door, or buy a new door.

If I buy a new door i would mean I'd probably have to remove the rub strips again, meaning i could potentially have the same problem.

I have the capabilities to paint the door, all the proper spray equipment ect, but I've only ever sprayed stock car panels and engines ect. If I re-spray just the door would it be completely obvious that it's been resprayed? The cars Arden Blue (291) and was made in 1999. I have faith in my skills its just i'm worried about the colour match.

Has anyone ever done partial respraying themselves? What were the results like?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Connor

Rattle can or proper job?

Doing whole panels is when rattle can looks it's worst so I'd definitely not rattle can it

If you have the equipment and skill to blend the paint in with the other panels go for it :)

Have you priced a bodyshop to do it? I've got doors done for 50 quid in the past so it might be cheaper

I've got all the proper spray equipment, spray guns, 2 compressors in parallel putting out 14cfm@90psi ect.

I've been looking at paint for it, it looks like I'd have to use 2k paints and i'm worried about the health effects if it's not done properly.

Just sent a message to our local spray company, i'll see what they've got to say and then try and make a decision from that!
