Right to get you guys up to speed, here is a quick run down on the events that have unfolded thus far on my combo.
As bought, a slightly sorry for its self combo
Many hours of fun and frolics finally saw the stickers removed, lack of clutch was sorted by adjusting the cable but the inside had faired none better, so out with the old
Including dash, door cards, roof lining etc. Only thing that stayed was the rubber flooring, that was removed and steam cleaned. Dash was donated by a local lad, who said he had one in his shed, that was better then my white paint stained one. Replacement parts came via my local scrapyard, whom I now seem to be on first name terms with.
Jet washing the replacement roof lining
Fitting up the illumination and vec roof console
Cup holder fitted
Along with corsa b sport seats, genuine floor mats. while dash out and about I fitted new bulbs and some silvery bits
along with a silver heater cover. Inside still not finished, front arm rest, flock of the dash, chrome window winder handles etc etc yet to source and fit
Bodywork wise, she aint bad
This is what I found when removing the plastic arch on the rear, so I could clean and wax it down, ready for winter
, rear door replaced with red ones for now, though these are like brand new
Front bumper replaced with a colour coded one
As too were the head lights, they were knackered, cheese cutter grill fitted. Also bought some angel eye lights. New set of alloys, refurbed and boots all round
but got removed after 2 days, as they may look good but are pants at night.
Removed both arch liners and wax oiled the buggery out of it.
Had new cam belt, water pump, oil change (twice) rear shoes, new front discs and pads, air box mod done and that`s about up to date now.
Bought a pair of gsi side skirts and a gsi front bumper to fit, but as yet not done anything to them.
So this is how it now looks
