Thank you for letting me join the Club.
The gearbox on my poor old 1997 Corsa 1.4 Hi-Torq Breeze (90k) is on it's way out. My local garage are quoting £1600 to replace but they didnt say if that was for a new or s/h unit. That sounds pretty steep to me. I'd be happy with a s/h gearbox but not for that kind of dosh! I'm sure Ed China from Wheeler Dealers could do it for a lot less

Second hand gearbox will be 200, fitting between 90-180, plus oil, and you may change the clutch while it's out

Say 500 all in as a top end quote, local garage may do it for 300-400

Anyone could do it it's what they charge if. You got an engine crane take the engine and box out in one it would be easier
