problem when pulling away

recently my car is having problems when pulling away doesnt happen all the time, u put your foot on accelerator and nothing happens then 3 or 4 sec later away it goes , have recently had full service etc etc any ideas anone

usualy does it when its warmed up , or has been runnig for long time

doesnt do it on the move just pulling away , revs are fine

sounds like HT leads (they might not have done it on full service, but shouldve) if you have a multimeter and you know how to check the resistance of them do that, i dont know what resistance should be off top of my head, but lower the better (resistance of leads together typically, but i think they have suppresion in them) or if not lift the bonnet in a dark place you\'ll probs see them sparking if they are bad enough. may even hear them crackling

its one of those ecvotec engine with stupid big rectangle block that sit over the plugs which is connectred a multi point plug

if over rev and slip clutch it will spin the wheels with no probs

take the cover off, then take a peek at the leads matey :thumbs:

all looks well no crackling or sparks from leads just plugs and they spark pretty well , think i will just shoot it and get new engine

yeah may be worth checking zorst for small leaks that dont matter when your driving, but gives you no pressure when pulling away
check around the manifold, thats where most people dont realise the leak :thumbs:

ye took it apart and stuck aplugs back in and tryed to start car and all plugs fire pretty well no sparks from anywere else

:? dunno what to say about that, but im pretty sure you shouldnt be able to see spark plugs firing? are HT leads pushed on properly? :?

have i confused u , have u never taken out a spark plug from the block
and conect it to ht lead and turned the engine over to check that the plug is working :)

ah i see, i thought you were saying you could see the plug sparking when it was plugged in :lol: im stumped, does your car ever cut out when at low revs?
