Can it be done?

I have an "R" reg b with the mechanical mileage display not digital type. I'm wanting to do the astra gte digi dash conversion but can it be done if you have these clocks? In my head the facelift b clocks are different to pre facelift like mine? Speedo and Rev counter work even with the x16xe engine swap in
Thanks in advance

I think you need to add in some sensors and run wires off ecu. Not 100% though.

You need an electronic speed sensor to replace your cable rev counter, there is a part that you plug the cable in and it sends the electric pulse out, but it's not something you really come across now days, I can't even remember what there called it's been so long since I've seen them
Other option is to buy a box already set up with the electric speed sensor and fit it

The transducer? Synonymous with rocking horse poop now those haha. Someone from mig web mad so pulse converter but they're rare too! You can use things like abs or crankshaft sensor to create a pulse but I have no idea how this works!

You can wire this to something else on the car I've heard of crank shaft sensors and abs system and all kinds of other things that have been used in conjunction with a pulse converter to power the speedo. If I remember rightly u need 12 pulses to power it.
Now the transducers are rare but they're still around.. You can get the dash both plugs and a transducer for probably 80 quid if you want to shell out.. The plugs aren't as important as the transducer. There was atleast 4 types of transducer I know of (some debate on this) they are ak, ah, aa and I don't remember the last. You need to have the right transducer for your dash but there is no way of knowing until you plug the dash in to the car.
These can be used in almost anything not just vauxhalls

Wow. Electrics isn't really my strong point if I'm honest. This just makes me so confused lol. Thanks but I think I'm going to have to leave it and make do or try find a pro to do it. I found the wiring guide for if I had a facey and was hoping I could get away with that.

Transducer, that's it
always forget what there called
As said there still out there but there hard to find unless you know people, they were the big thing about 20 years ago when manufacturers changed from mechanical to electrical speed sensors but now that it's all electrical there only really of use to a handful of people doing jobs that are extinct to any modern mechanic

There's one with everything you need. It's at 80 quid already be interesting to see where it stops. I reckon £120. They're not massively difficult to fit if your handy there a few guides on them for the corsa b

Keep an eye out on eBay for the transducer with a bit of loom on it
As the diff inside the gear box has a pick up plate on it instead of a drive
To spin the speedo drive as with the transducer it fits where the speedo cable fits
So it's easier to fit
