Just realised after a long time of knowing deep down

So just realised after a long time pondering it. If you look at this pic
The ecotec cover which is off the c16xe is only held on by the oil filler cap, no screw holes on the engine underneith the cover and doesn't line up it literally is only there by oil cap. I've realised that this is my engine
A c16xe as you see. Above the ht leads there is 2 screw holes where the same sort of top cover like a redtop goes. This is the c16xe cover. I've thought it was a c16xe engine for a while and now it's confirmed. So this means that it's a corsa gsi lump and started with I think around another 10bhp. It also explains why it bounces on the redline and doesn't have the same fuel cut off at the redline which the ecotecs tend to have. I've been looking everywhere and cannot find a c16xe cover to put on which is what it should have. Only 1 x16xe on eBay. If anyone knows of one please let me know as I am in dire need of it so let me know.

The c16xe has like 1 or 2 extra bhp, the screw holes are for a spark plug cover, both c16xe and x16xe have those holes
You need to get the code on the side of the block to know what engine it is

If you look at the holes on the plastic cover there's nothing under them it literally just is the oil cap holding it on. Tried to check the block but the bay's pretty compact and no space to grab a peak. The c just has the metal cover for these 2 holes
Whereas the x should have holes for this poo plastic cover.
Plus it would make sense as it bounces like f**k off the redline u like a normal ecotec which has that cut off so it can't. However with the powerbox being on it somehow revs a lot higher then normal and goes through the red so f**k knows what's it will Rev to lol

Just found these. First is the c which doesn't have what mine has. Second one is what I have with the 2 screw holes sticking up for the metal plate
So confusing all these differences

This is how both engines look from factory
They both came with covers and they both came with screw holes for a spark plug cover
The above one you posted I'm assuming is custom because it should have the holes

Right well, mine doesn't have that silver part on the exhaust mani, I'm assuming that's an egr valve? If so it doesn't never has there's nothing on the manifold been blanked off to??? I'm assuming g that the cover would of screwed on to the standard intake mani but because I have a powerbox the fixings are no longer there? My exhaust mani looks more like the silver gsi's? My brains fuzzled trying to find the person who did the conversion from when it had a c20ne lump in

Yeah that's the Egr but it's common practice to get rid of it when fitting an aftermarket manifold [emoji38]
It could well be a c16xe but the differences are so small you'd need to check the code
The only differences in them are plastic intake, and slightly different shaped ports, and an egr

Well it's never been on the manifold it's at the Back under Intake mani

The Egr?
I'm fairly sure it's an x16xe mainly because you don't seem to have an afm

Yeah the egr. It's literally as if it's a mixture of the 2 haha

The c16xe doesn't have an egr atall, it was built in the wonderful times before those hippie freaks got there way of Tring to "save the environment"
