Temp gauge mind blower

Real puzzle for anyone that wants to chime in
Temp gauge goes past the red every time it's driven but goes to actual running reading will clutch is engaged or in neutral but as soon as it's back in gear and moving it rises straight away
Cts was changed for known working one, earth was checked and wires aren't damaged, stat was also checked at the start before realising it's only a problem when moving
Heater blows hot and cold, with heater on full heat temp gauge stays full and no coolant or oil lose
I'm completely stumped, I think the only thing it could be is the gauge getting a signal from somewhere but can't figure where
I don't care how bizarre any ideas are just as long as there ideas [emoji38]
