Good Evening Corsa B Forums!
I have a 1.0l Corsa B and have just replaced the rear brake shoes. It took ages to lever the drums off as the handbrake cable adjuster is rusted solid. Its all back together, the brakes seem to work but the hand brake now pulls all the way up without locking. I can\'t understand where all the slack has come from and I can\'t use said rusted adjuster to try and correct it.
Any suggestions on where I\'m going wrong?

mines the same, but my adjuster nut aint really rusted much, just used some plyer to adjust the nuts till the handbrake works properly, also tweaked the handbrake cable nut up too

Think I\'ve figured out the problem. Because my handbrake cable is rusted solid, I couldn\'t slacken it off to get the drums off so I used a claw hammer and brute force instead. This damaged the pins and washers which hold the shoes central in the drums on the offside wheel. Applying the brakes caused the rear shoe to slip off the piston so pulling the handbrake just opened the lever on the shoe.
Hopefully gonna replace the pins and washers and maybe the handbrake cable adjuster tonite.

I\'d put the spring that holds the auto-adjuster bar against the nut in the wrong way so the auto adjust wasn\'t working!
Hand brake is now working fine.
But the foot brake now isn\'t working right!
It was fine once I\'d finished on the brakes, but I then disconnected the battery to replace the airbag. Now its all back together, the brake pedal travels all the way to the floor and it sounds like air escapes from the pedal each time it is depressed. The brakes do work but the pedal needs to travel all the way to the floor.
Can anyone suggest what I\'ve done wrong now?
