what will an mot tester look for?

breaks been changed
oil and oil filter been changed
plugs been changed
all lights are working


what else needs doing?

sach

check suspension make sure all is good, balljoints make sure there not old/worn/leaking/split

track-rod ends just make sure there not all rusted & seized

check condition of chassis underneath & sills for rust & corrosion

make sure the exhaust isnt blowing or leaking anywhere & its not smoking

wiper blades need to be in good nick, also make sure your washer jets are all workin & you got water in your screen-wash tank

wheel bearings - if there is any excessive play or noise

headlight alignment/type of bulbs used...

seatbelts, seats, they all need to be ok & in good order

all done paul need 2 change the wiper blades
exhaust might be a problem is there a law agenst how loud it is?
also when u say smoking how thick?

hmm loudness - depends on the tester & if they have a headache or not!¬

smoking... i mean any blue/black smoke under idle/acceleration...

mines due at the end of feb and i know for a fact that its gonna fail!

Do they really look for smoke???

check your rear lights as well they need to show the right colour and have the right coloured reflectors, i had to take my smoked lesnes off for the mot. which reminds me i still have to put them back on
