question about exhaust

hi there
on the 10Th Sept I\'m meant to be changing my exhaust system to a power flow they have quoted me around 360 for the lot including fitting etc
i just looked on eBay and saw they sell jap style back box\'s for £109.00 and then a Remus center section pipe for £69 ish. would that pipe connect onto the back box and then straight to cat?
would this be the same as what id be buying a cat back system i guess?
just cheaper?
also if anyone has a Remus center section does it fit OK and make the back box sound any better?
cheers

id go for the power flow exaust tbh, ive heard they are really good. the other bits should fit together easy enough, maybe a bit of welding welding needed

Remus do two centre sections - race and silenced (the race being a straight through tube).
For £70 I think you\'d be getting the race section.
What jap-style back box have you seen listed? Is it branded or just a universal style?
If it\'s the latter then steer clear. Universal typically means \"doesn\'t fit\" or at the very least, spend a lot of effort making it fit.
Is there any particular reason why you\'re choosing a Powerflow system over any of the hundreds of decent off the shelf systems made by Remus, Piper, Magnex, Scorpion, etc.

Never experienced them myself, but I think the general opinion is that Powerflow systems are only as good as the fitters.
Some places use cheap grades of stainless steel which still rusts, welds fail, they all sound the same regardless of how they \"tune\" the exhaust sound...

My bro has just had a back box fitted from powerflow, u can have it sounding how u want, and they made and fitted within half an hour. They have done a really good job! cost him £182 for the b/box tho....

Sorry, but they\'re nasty universal crap. The Corsa B backbox is different to the C.
Even if the fit is poor, the silencer would probably fall apart inside.
Re. Powerflow sounding nice... it\'s all the same drone sound - no actual exhaust note so to speak.
A direct fit Remus system sounds quite sweet - they even do tuneable rear silencers, plus the Remus quality is second to none.

agreed with joff, a proper exhaust from the likes of remus, blue flame etc would be so much better made and better sounding than a powerflow system, where they just bend pipes to make them fit the corsa.... bepends if you want a mad one off style exhaust to fit your customs 309 bumper on a corsa, or an exhaust which will sound nice, be well made and last.....

agree with joff n broster the remus is a good product nice clean crisp sound (had one on a VTS) and you could do distance without brain going numb (le-mans n back)

But why Mr Scot? You know you need to back up your argument.

Also, don\'t buy Powerflow, they are rusty tat. Magnex have a large range of tail pipes for Corsa\'s and they are built to a far higher quality. They also have a warrenty which is actually worth the paper it\'s written on. Also, why get a custom exhaust when you don\'t need one?
