Standard Alarm Problems

Hi, i have a standard alarm and immobiliser but the alarm is not working. When i try and set the alarm the light just flashes at me and does nothing else. When i lock the car and activate the alarm (by turning the key totally to the left and pulling the key out) the light does not flash or anything. Has anyone had the same problem? If so how do i fix it?

i had same prob with mine.. just bypass the alarm and fit a toad or clifford.. much better than standard.
