i jacked my car up earlier because the exhaust is blowing, started the car up, to find out where the leaks where, the car wasnt in gear, but the wheel that was off the floor was spinning? what might cause this? or is it supposed to happen? it was as if the car was in gear, but it wasnt if you know what i mean

It\'s because the frition on the bearings in the gearbox still manages to trasfer rotation from the input to the out put shaft, it\'s normal and you\'d expect it. when it\'s on the ground there\'s suffiecent resistance to stop the wheel turning.
