suspension query

Post by voodoo_jellybaby2k2 »

Right, if i purchase a suspension package that comes with uprated shocks and some -40mm springs, can i change the springs and put -60mm ones on instead.....???

It says in the advert that the front can be lowered either 40mm or 60mm, and the back is fixed at 40mm..... just curious if i can change the back springs to make it 60mm all round....???

I have not got a clue about this, im stupid i know :D

i really have no clue either, but i imagine you could have 60mm all round as it is possible to put 60mm springs on standard shocks alone. So just a guess but i imagine putting them on the uprated shocks would be fine?

Yes, the general rule is you can swap over springs.
Some shock absorbers are uprated and shortened to match the spring, but I don\'t think anyone does these for the Corsa any more.
No more Corsa :(

So, using -60mm springs on std shocks is a no no...... but if get these uprated shocks then i can put new -60mm springs on them, even though they only came with -40mm ones....???

There GAS shocks i think, but then the advert says something about FK as well...... and doesnt tell you the make of the springs......

Most -60mm kits will come with shortened shocks to stop it bottoming out.
The ride comfort will terrible with low springs and standard shocks.
