engine conversion wiring

iv\'e got a few questions to ask, me a mate have put a nova gte engine into my corsa 1.2 8v, theres a small problem we have got, in the wiring loom there was a round connector with lots of wires in it, what we need to know is which wires connect to my car, this is a picture of the round connector we chopped the wires off:

what we need to know basically is what these wires do and what they connect to on my car.

black red - ?
brown - ground
brown dark blue - ?
black - ?
red black - ?
green blue - ?
brown white - ?
blue - ?
green - rev counter?
blue white - ?
white black - ?
brown black - ?

Where is/was this plug located?
What did it connect to?
Does the engine run?

the plug was on the loom that i got with the engine, not sure what the guy has done with it but its a mess, there was a red battery terminal, with another thick red wire spliced into that, then another battery terminal, it looks as tohugh he has had 2 batteries running or something, i dont know, i need a new loom really, but thanks anyways mate

them bunch of wires are from in the engine bay, they connect to the starter and other things like that, i mean you can re-wire it but it is probably best to get a new wireing loom

Yeah get a new loom mate, easier in hte long run.

tell me about it, he had 2 positive battery terminals connected too,god knwos what he was on when he did it, but it must of been good stuff lol, hopefully got someone bringing me a new loom at 6 and wiring it up for me :-)
