Fitting new springs

I have just bought some G-max springs which will lower my car 60mm, I jus wondered if just putting springs out without new shocks safe lol. Ive heard just putting new springs on wont improve my cars handling just the way it looks, But will the gls shocks be ok with these new springs?Thanks
