I had that problem with my door speakers, the outside of the cone used to hit the plastic grill when when music was turned up high. Im now in the middle of making some custom speaker pods on top of the old door pockets. Check if your number plate is knocking cuz my mates make a write racket.

My left speaker used to do that. and at first it was rattling against the plastic so all i did was lossend the plastic cover so there was more room and this worked.
few months later it rattled again but wasnt the plastic thing as i held the speaker and listend to it and it sounded like it was from the cone. i had them checked out at audio place and they sed they are knakered. the cone had seperated it self or something like that. so i have to buy new ones.
