Better sound?

Av got JBL 6x9s, Kenwood 16.5 in my door and just got given an Splx sub an amp as a freebie. Would I get a better sound if the amp powered my speakers and I left my sub out? Or shud I jus hook the lot up?? Bit of help from any ICE heads wud b appreciated

by puttin a sub in your car you can turn the bass down on the head unit and leave the 6x9s and door speakers to pick up just treble.this will take the strain off the speakers and allow them to run better.

I know Splx is poo but it was a freebie, defo wudn\'t av bin my choice. Am on the verge of gettin me wheels an droppin me car so am a bit strapped 4 cash right now
