Looking at getting either an early GSi or a 1.6 Sport.

Any facts and figures to give.

The mrs threw out my entire collection of Total Vauxhall mags last month. I did have every one since the mag started all in pristine condition.

bhp, 0-60, weight, gear ratio\'s, etc etc etc.

Or some links to the info will be just as good.

Plan on getting about 200bhp from the 1.6 engine, just wanted to know what the differences between the two lumps are.

Have been too busy to ring firms round for info yet.

I wouldn\'t take TV stuff as gospel, usually very wrong..

C16XE - 0-60 in 8.9, top speed 121mph, 109bhp
X16XE - 0-60 in 9.4, top speed 119mph, 106bhp

Weight is the same. (around 950kg) Some GSi\'s came with Shorter ratio F15 boxes (think it was all C16 engines).

To get 200bhp from either engine, expect to say good bye to around £3k.... If not more tbh.

U\'ll need throttle bodies, exhaust manifold, pocketed pistons, pretty wild cams, as well as the strengthening stuff.... PLus it needs setting up. Sound good on full chat though.

Well 3K is not a bad amount of money to pay for what you get.

A fu***ng great smile on your face every time you drive.

Plus there is always a 50 shot of NOS for those times when you need it.
