Hi! I am a new member
At the minute i am working on a 1.2i 8 valve engine and i am estamating
it to run at about 180- 190bhp no lie i will come to the spec in a minute let me start at the beginning well i had a bet with my brother to get a vauxhall corsa 1.2i 8 valve and get as much bhp as possible without changing the block as it is the block that holds the capacity of the engine bearing in mind he never said anything about getting the block rebord ha!
Enyway the spec i will start at the bottom of the engine and work up!
here we go.
The crank has totaly been reshaped to give a lower induction stroke and a higher lift to give more compression the block has been rebord to about 1.4 and the pistons have been replaced for low compression pistons
which cost me an arm and a leg working upwards there is a plate that go\'s between the block and the head 15mm tall so in turn can take more air in and also 2 head gaskets have to be used not to mention the custom head bolts made out of titanum moving up again (The cylinder head) is a 1.4 head which has been reported 3mm to give more intake/out and valves have all been reshaped for smooth intake the exhaust manifold is a 4 into 2 no cat straight throught exhaust system the inlet manifold has also been reshaped cam and followers have been replaced for kent cam set and last but not least the turbocharger it is off a mini cooper s
and the ecu is standard and will be upgraded but the engine is not in the car yet it is sat in my cella still got a lot of rebuilding to do yet! but most of the work is done i am estamating this engine will give about 180 - 190bhp
if anyone else can think of anything i have missed or haven\'t upgraded please let me know so please give me your thoughts!!
Regards, Mark!!
