I have recently been given a sub and amp by my mate but I dont have any wires for it at all (which i knew about) Ive been looking at wiring kits but theyre about £30 I am wanting it for a 5door corsa b. I have been told that I don\'t need all the wires that come with the kit.
Any ideas on the names of the exact wires I need and roughly how long i need them to be!
Also I am hoping to fit it all myself under carpets etc is this easy, and instructions welcome (idiot proof)
any suggestions welcome

You do need all the wires thats why they are all in the kit. and £30 is a reasonable price for decent wires
You need:
Power cable from battery (big red wire)
Earth cable(brown or black)
RCA leads(see through with red and white plugs)
Remote turn on lead(thin blue)
All the wires will be more than long enough
Not mega hard to install but you need the right tools and a bit of patience
Get yourself over to corsasport.co.uk theres a good amp power lead wiring tutorial on there.

Katie. Is is very easy to fit the wiring for your Sub and Amp and to hide it under the cars trim. Most of the trim can be removed with a T20 Torx type screw fitting.
Most of the parts come loose once the screws are removed.
Regarding wiring kit, can you post up the make/model of amp and sub so that you can be advised on the correct spec kit to use?
I do the following wiring kits,
http://cms.purecarsound.co.uk/modules.p ... Path=32_65
but obviously the one you need will depend on the type of ICE kit you have been given.. also ignore the prices on that link! Will do discounted kit should you come through me.

to wire the kit you have to first take the power cable(the red one) and put one end on the battery and one end in the amp but make sure you have taken the fuse out.
next you need to do the earth and you need to bolt this to the chassis. make sure its got a good earth or the amp will not work.
next its the rca cable. most rca cables have the remote turn on lead fixed onto it.
the rca lead plugs into the back of the head unit(stereo) and the other end to the back of the amp.
the remote turn on lead connects to the +12v lead on the head unit which probrably will be yellow.
or you could wire the remote turn on lead to yor battery instead and put a switch on your dashboard for it which i did to my mates punto and it looks cool.(his was in the head lining and it looks like a fighter plane with all of the switches in it)
oh yes and dont for get to put the fuse on when you are done or it wont work!!
and dont put the rca and the power lead together cos you could get a buzzing sound from your sub. i run the rca through the drivers side of the car and the power lead down the passengers side just becaus the battery is on the passengers side so ur not using as much wire.
hope this helps

erm why would you wire the turn on lead to the yellow one, and not the blue turn on lead from the headunit ? :S

You wouldn't, cos this is an ignition live. Wire it from the blue on the back of the head unit, the amp will the turn of when the headunit is off.
