power steering was an option up to 5/96 nearly standard after then apart from the very basic models

16v ecotec engines are ok youve just got to look after them and keep them well serviced. but i will say the old 8v lump are very strong and if looked after can do 2-300k miles before a rebuild not so much the 1.2-1.4 tho as these get ragged/tuned to death

i love my 1.2 8v and yer it isnt a fast car but alor better built than the 1.2 esotec errrrrrr. and plods along nicely and with me new 1.2 8v gls i am currently doingi get pas/ew/ffsr/abs so will be a good runner even though i will be trying to get my hands on a 1.4 8v single point to throw in it i think and doing a few mods like marky has done. and marky has proved a point that muli valve and high bigger cc engines dont always result is good engines as you should all chek out markys project and see what a proper tuned engine looks like rarther than just throwing in a big heavy lump.
