Problem
Ive had this problem with all my corsa\'s not sure if anyone else has had the same problem. I have this really high pitched wining noise coming from my sound system, all the wiring is right and the earth is in the right place too, but i still cant work out how to stop the wining. Anyone have any sugestions?

Re: Problem
The car whines more when it revs and there is a click when the whipers go on and then you can here them working too, i got told it had sumit to do with the altinator and to move the fuse to the oposite side of the battery but im not sure if that will work.

Re: Problem
They are at opposite sides. The fuse has even been removed from the front of the car so that it cant interfier with the altinator but its still whining, i was told that thats what the problem wud have been but nope still whining lol. It cant be the fuse in the back, can it?

Had this problem with my Mk2 Astra, first step is to run a good thick cable (I used 8 gauge) from alternator earth on rear of alternator and connected other end to battery earth (-ve). Also ensure that all other earth cables and connectors are clean and corrosion free and none of the other earth cables are broken (continuity check). Also make sure that you have all amplifier earths going to same connection point, preferably a seperate connection from any other electrical equipment. I put a nut & bolt through the boot floor,(mind out for anything underneath when drilling like pipes for fuel and brakes! ) cleaned off the paint to make good electrical contact and applied waxoyl to stop any moisture & rust, and ran 4 gauge cable to earth distribution block for amps.
Failing all that, go to your local ICE retailer and ask for a ground loop isolator(£20-£30) which goes in the phono (line level signal cable) line between head unit & amps.
Hope this is of some use, regards, Mr.Rusty.

Re: Problem
I have also heard that its worth replacing the surpressor on the back of the alternator. Apparently this can cause a whining noise.

Re: Problem
Think most alternators are now fitted with them. Don\'t quote me on this. But its got to be an easy place to start.
