Slowest Project Ever... (my GSi)
THIS PROJECT HAS NOW BEEN ABANDONED
http://forums.corsa-b.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8969
This came off the road back in September 2005... And well I'm doing it in dribs and drabs...
Like alot of Corsa's, it was going to be something it quite isn't... So for now I am being sensible, getting it fixed, and back on the road...
What I need to do right now is rebuild the topend of the engine, new rollers, waterpump, few other bits & bobs for the engine, needs new brakes front AND rear, and hopefully it will fire up...
So a quick recap from then-to-now...
Bought it:
Lowered it:
Stripped it:
Broke it:
Towed it:
Destroyed it:
I'll update as-and-when I do something... I will have this back on the road come the start of May, and I will have it at PVS in its tatty state... unless I blow the damned thing up again...

Re: Slowest Project Ever... (my GSi)
Began to smoke... alot...
Hoping its just the stemseals which are shot, if not then its a case of... can I be arsed doing the piston rings, well... the engine has only done 30k so I reckon so!
Engine was running perfect other than the smokey issue, wasn't constant, just after idling from a bit or when starting it from cold... was fine under load!

Re: Slowest Project Ever... (my GSi)
Kinda big update, but no pics soz
Head is now off and stripped down, sent off for a little polish & tidy up, aswell as new seals all round
Inspected the pistons for play & they are just like new no rim on the bores either, just like new
Car is now OFF the ramps too, ready to be moved as I'm moving house. Getting picked up today at about 6:30 or so... woopie-doooo!!
What needs doing now??
Get the head back, bolt it on.
New Water-pump
New timing idlers & belt
New aux-drive belt
Flush the PAS Fluid and Brake fluid and fit new
New rear brakes (proper foo'bar'd)
Try do some tidying up on the inside...
Should be semi-ready for PVS

Re: Slowest Project Ever... (my GSi)
Another update
I WILL get some Proper pics up tomorrow... Promise!!
Head still needs fitting, its currently in the boot of the Omega...
I've now got all the parts except for 1 small hose Vauxhall changed the design on the rear hose, so the revised 'new' one fouls against the alternator, so I'm gona bodge-fix the cooling system...
Getting a compressor and impact gun this weekend to attack the crank pulley bolt, bastarding thing is very stubborn!
Also re-fitted the headlights and front bumper as I was sick with some guy coming round each night offering me £50 for the car ummmm no! So gave it a quick clean too
So some clean car piccies Please excuse the poorly-fitted bumper... I need to smack hell out of the twisted tow bar to get it to fit proper :S

Right...
Images earlier on don't work no more, so you have to go from memory...
I made some MAJOR Progress today! The pictures speak from themselves
From:
Head was then stripped down, polished a bit, and rebuilt (no pics of that)
To:
Still need to fit the rocker cover, upper inlet, crank pully, aux drive belt, fanny about with a hose at the back of the engine, fit new header tank (8v version), radiator, lower ball joints, 2 new tyres...
ALL this done by Friday dinner... then its MOT time (Hopefully it will pass!!)
Fingers crossed...
