Don't you just hate insurance....

I have been trying to find some cheap (yeah right) insurance for my 1.2 GLS corsa and no matter how much I try I can't find a quote under £2600 . I'm 17 and have no convictions and I#ve had no accidents either.
Has anyone got any idea what companies to try for cheaper insurance.
The cheapest I have found is £2650 from Liverpool Victoria (LV)
Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated

you have been punching in some wrong numbers, look at me
21 = lots for insurance
mechanic = lots on insurance
no NCB = lots on insurance
live in a really nasty area = mucho on insurance
and my insurance was £815 on a 1.4 16v GLS
try going to
Quinn Direct insurance
thats where i got my insurance from
or go confuse.com

Thanks for the advice but Quinn gave a quote of £4,541.97
I think its just because I'm 17 really.

mate i think your definatly doing something wrong. When i got my car which is a 1.4 16v sport i was
1. A student (high insurance)
2. Forgot to put about my custom alarm
3. put down all alloys and lights and every mod
and the highest quote anywhere was 2500 and i pay 1200 fully comp with quinn and i was 17 when i did that.

Cost me £1041 for my 1st year on my Corsa B 1.0i TPFT
£498 4 my second year TPFT
would have been £295 for my 3rd but i got a new car
now costs me £826 fully comp on my Ibiza (which isnt actualy right since the last payment they CREDITED me £93 rather than debiting)
so really its cost me £733 lol
BTW dont go with adrian flux too much hassle!
long long long story, but if anyone wants to hear it reply and let me know lol

21, mechanic, no no-clames, very high crime rate area...
try doing a insureance estimate online
say your a mechanic and your inployers are a franchise!
then look back and copair the silly prices! lol

Your Location will be doing no favors in regards to the insurance... My premium is alot more than it should be as I'm studying at JMU, so 'technically' living there myself, my premium was hiked up by £380 compared to my home address.
As Adam suggested, give Brentacre a try (01792 650 933), they are by far the cheapest for both me, Adam, and a few others on here!
Also, give your local Endsleigh branch a call, they specialise in policies for young drivers AND Students, so it may well be worth giving them a call (0151 7087117).
Other than that, check the back of Total Vauxhall (if you get it) or try Confused, MoneySupermarket, etc...
