Corsa-B.uk - Vauxhall, Opel and Holden Corsa B Owners Club

Well pals, here I leave a new post, to show you de differences in between the European and the South America Corsa, and also, will let you know the different versions of this popular car here.
To begin with, The Corsa is sold under the brand "Chevrolet", built in Brasil Argentina, Chile and other countries (the brazilian model is the one with best quality control, although the designs are all the same).

1- The Corsa "classic" (B en Europe), hatchback three doors, the same sold in Europe but with some differences on its design (actualy this is my Corsa!):







2- The Corsa 4-door sedan: very popular small size sedan, used as taxi cabs, urban police and others. Engines same as the 3 door HB: 1.0L MPFI, 1.0 Turbo "special edition" (6-speed), 1,6 8V GL, 1,6 16V GLS and 1,6 16V Turbo. The newest engine is the 1,6 "FlexPower", which uses petrol and alcohol too. Very popular in Brazil due to its low emitions, economy and durability





3- The Corsa Pick-up: (yes, pick up!!!), one of the best sellers small-size pick-ups ever sold in L.A. Versions: 1,6 ST, 1,6 GL and 1,6 sport.

















4- The Corsa Wagon: same engines as the sedan version.



and last but not least...

5- The Chevrolet "Montana": is the substitute for the Corsa pick up. Its the Corsa "C" in pick up version. Versions: 1.8 ST, 1.8 GL, 1.8 GLS and 2.0 "sport", with 16V and Double Over Head Cam...145HP! ( a monster!)



Appart from this versions, we can also find here the 5-door hatchback and Combo, imported from Brazil, Portugal, Germany and Spain, but all solds under the "Chevrolet" name.

that pick up corsa looks really sweet, i reckon i might have a look into importing one, are they quite common over there?

psycho657, the Corsa pick up...here in uruguay, where sold like water, they are everywhere!. My uncle had one, an 1.6 GL bordeaux, it was in mint conditions, he sold it last year. But here in Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil, its full of these pick-up. The market main competition of the Corsa pick-up are the Volkswagen Saveiro and Fiat Strada, but the Corsa has a better engine and better quality control thatn its rivals, that wht it sold so well here. About importing one, I really dont know, cars here are expensive and I do not know about customs stuff, cheers!

yer, i didnt realise how global the corsa was, in china its called the 'buick sail' n in japan 'opel vita' but by far the pick up looks really gd i think itl cost around 4000 US dollars to buy and import back, so not as much as id thought, but thats under opel vita, not sure if they had the pickup or not over there, but still outa my budget. your corsa looks nice i like the front bumper.

thanx psycho, that front bumpers came with the corsa here from the year 2000 till present, here is a very cheap part, you could buy it here and ship it to the UK easily, but you would need to change the bonet also, as the "meeting" or union of these two pieces are different from the older hood (same as european one). About the pick up, as far as I know, I was only made in Latin America, it does not exist in europe, australia or asia.
Another upgrade in the design of the local Corsa here introduced in the year 2000 was the electronic dashboard. The first versions who had them, where only the GLS and Turbo versions, but in the year 2004, it came standard, up to now with every new Corsa. It attach a pic of these new dash, its really amazing, similar to the one found in the Corsa C: translucent numbers, translucent gauges, digital odometer and superposed tachometer and speedometer. You have to see it at night...you dont have an idea how great it looks!!!!!!!
This speedometer cluster original part (new offcourse) cost arround US300 (150GBP aprox)

the dials do look a lot better than the standard corsa over here, if i hadnt just paid for a gsi front bumper id have thought about getting one sent over, but i am thinking of the dash, really tempting, do u reckon a vauxhall dealer over here would be able to order the part in specially, or would there be another way?

Psycho, look. some time ago, I thought in changing my speedo cluster for this one, the problem is that the new one is 100% elecronic. If you look at the back, you will see a vertical blue plug with several pins. However, this connector can be adapted, I dont know how, but it can be made, you need a professional car electrician, but im 100% sure you can do it. If you want, I can offer you a way. Here you can get this speedo at any Chevrolet dealer, offcourse, as its an unusual replacement part and very expensive, I might wait for a couple of weeks to get it. What I can offer, is you to send the money via western union, I buy the speedo and ship it to you, or if you prefeer, I can get the Dealers contact info and you talk directly with him. Its a very expensive accesory, if I had the money, I would have already installed it!

hey im saving up for an engine conversion at the minute,so it wont be for a while, but itd be a nice job to do cos nobody else will have got it i doubt so quite unique, if i could get it from a vauxhall dealer would be better than a chevrolet cos ma dad works for vauxhall and gets 25% of parts and labour, i think wen my dads goes to work on monday ill aks him if they can get hold of the part. cheers

thats nice, but as far as I know, these speedo came only in the Corsa made in Brazil, Argentina and Chile (in mexico it doesnot exists)...thats all chevrolet corsa. I think they never came on a vauxhall, as these came from the year 2002 onwords, when the new Opel / Vauxhall corsa C was already on the market. Ask anyway, good luck at finding it

i want a saloon one!

the saloon looks nice yes griffin, they are everywhere here, is one of the most popular and best sold small size sedans here. tje 95% of all taxi cabs here are the Corsa Sedan, they proof to be very durable and good quality cars here. Urban Police also uses the Corsa "Classic" Sedan

i like the sound of the 1600 16v turbo, i can see me importing an engine!!
