check how slack the clutch cable is, should only have about half and inch on the pedal before you feel it tighten,
then check clutch cable for the white plastic clip ontop of the gear box, if its broken and come off it will cause dificulty changing gear.
also might want to adjust your gear linkage when this is all done.

i think i know what it is,is your clutch pedal just above your brake pedal,if not it should be,if it isnt, open bonnet, just below and left of battery is the clutch cable,if not sure where that is get someone to keep pressing the clutch till you see it moving, once found there should be some kind of locking pin or something on the inside of the thread,if there isnt this is probably your problem,i didnt have this lock and the thread kept unthreading itself every time i ised clutch and clutch pedal ended up near floor when not even using, just twist with hand the thread and get somebody to tell you when its above the brake pedal, once in place either fit an allready purchased locking pin thing or just use 2 nuts like i did on the end to act like a locking nut, dont see why it should fail MOT,it passed last year and it never had this clip so as far as i see its mor safer this year lol
hope it helps
