snapped clutch cable

snapped clutch cable
hello guys and gals, yes its me again with yet another problem. my clutch cable snapped 4 months ago so i changed it, it snapped after 4 months and now ive got a new one on. it snaps at the foot pedal. why is this? my boss used to be a mechanic and his sypnosis is that the clutch or clutch casing is seizing up. i dont know wot to do, i cant keep taking it to the garage its too expensive. any help would be great thanx.

sounds like your boss is on the right track, if its snapping at the pedal ether something is catching it and wearing the cable thin or its being over stressed due to something being corroded.

I have the same problem i have only had my car for about 8 months and i have been through 3 clutch cables. What should we do about it?

Try what i did.
I had my cable snap, aa or whoever came out and put a temporary one on. About 6 months later this one then snapped (on my way to uni right in the middle of Birmingham!!) then my next one snapped about 4months later while down in Bristol seeing my girlsfriends older family members (ended up having to stay an extra night to have fixed (as this was a sunday)).
I was then told that the actual clutch pedal looked like it had worn causing an uneven groove in it. The plastic bit at the top had worn away at the top like they suggested. I got another pedal from the scrap yard and spent an afternoon fixing it about a year to a year and a half ago. (Touch wood and cross fingers it hasn't happened since).
That could be the problem.
