1.4 engine tuning

i have a 1.4i 3d breeze and was wondering what kinda power i could get out of it if tuned cos basically my mate has a 106 running 170bhp at the flywheel and i wanna prove corsa's are better than french roller skates.

you could always do the old c20xe or let conversion

well he is running a 1.6 gti lump with uprated cams inlet manifold and exhust manifold superchip basically 5k spent at pug performance, thinking redtop let but wouldnt that jst be uncontrollable in wet? i have priced up getting xe16 fitted and tuned and the let fitted and tuned and the let comes out cheaper and running more power!

going to hav a let put in my b around feb next year, should be running around 280bhp, with ballanced bottom end and xe flywheel, the car is only as uncontrollable as you want it to be mate, you can drive a bugati varon around at 30mph if you want even tho it have over 1000bhp.

xe aint an expensive conversion, can pick an engine and box up for as little as £200 if u look in the right places, would reccomend fitting a new water pump and timing kit to any c20 (xe or let) unless it has proof of having one recently fitted, set of mounts will set you back about £50 quid and keep an eye out on ebay u should get a set of shafts for 80 and a v6 fuel pump for pennies. big bhp for under £500, cant buy an let for that and with a fuel pressure regulator, set of bosch red injectors and decent exhaust u shud do ur m8s 106 easily, add cams and he wont know which way u went
