Post by purcell7 »

Im 17 bin drivin a 1.2 corsa LS for few months now and ultimately wanna put a red top engine in but insurance aint gunna alow that for a good few years, was thinkin of puttin a 1.4 16v in jus wondering if any1s done it and does it use the same engine mountings etc as the 1.2?? I no it aint good but prob wldnt tell insurance but will give em a ring first to see what it would be like, insurance has gone down alot for my renewal price tho!Does any1 have a 1.4 16v and know what the insurance is roughly? cheers

honestly insurance wont be much diffrent altho you may find a newer (facelifted) 1.4 may be cheaper (harder to steal you see)
but you would be better off just buying a 1.4 corsa rather than converting it
unless you can get the engine and bits dirt cheap
i mean if ur not fussed over milage seen a 1.6 sport on autotrader for 1200
99k on clocks tho

If u change your 1.2 to a 1.4 it will be more expensive to insure than a 1.4 would be as standard it sounds daft but its the way it is, so itd be easier and cheaper to get a different car that is a 1.4 or watever u feel like when u start lookin.
