Hi Chaps,

Im new here and I have a small problem. I've had a search of the forum but no luck.

My missus has a 1.2 16V ecotec corsa, On the odd occation I have to drive her car I normally drive it harder that she does. I've noticed it hesitates as it pulls through the rev range. Its only slight, but I can feel its not as smooth as it should be. The car is an X reg, has been serviced once a year, its only covered 54K miles.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

Brucey

sounds like u need a new rcj or rcg valve, sounds summink like that, it determines how the revs go up and down and how much power to output, they are quite a common fault on corsa's, try goin online and finding one because if u go to vauxhall main dealer they charge something rediculous for them, i think that they are all universal. easy to fit urself, sits on the top of the engine.

i havent heard of an rcj or rcg valve, it could be an egr valve,{(exhaust gas recirculation) valve} if ur egr valve is broke then ur talking bout 80 to a 100 quid for a new one, but it might just need cleaning, if ur missus drives like an oap the chances are its just a bit clogged, from not having given it enough poke, some times engines like to be given a bit more poke than usual, get it cleaned and see what it does. hope this helps
