hi, had an ebay alarm fited to my car over 2years ago now, and last few weeks, the emote central locking from the key fob does not unlock the doors, boot when the alarm is disabled, so hjaving to manually unlock the doors with the key still, but when enabling the alarm, the remote central locking works then, no problems. also, the alarm has a hi-jack feature that after 10 seconds with the engine being on, and the footbrake is pressed, it automatically locks the doors, and SHOULD unlock them when the engine has been turned off by the key, and again, to do with the central locking, the doors etc fail to open, meaning i have to pull the pin up to let myself out etc, so all in all, the car locks up fine, (usually), when alarm is enabled, but doesn't unlock when the alarm is disabled. thanks

any ideas with this one?

get in toch with the person who fitted it, or go to a local alarm company or somewere like RAM mobile because it sounds to me like the alarm is cuttin the standard central locking out.

not sure what the wiring for a alarm is like as haven't done one yet, but if there are 2 switch leads from the alarm ecu to the central locking ecu (1 lock and 1 unlock) one of these may have become loose. (Again not sure if 2 leads exist or weather it would be just 1).

guy at local garage took apart ecu and found where the central locking wires had been soldered etc and tested those and made sure they werent loose, did that and central locking wored fine, until next day when it went back to not unlocking the doors when alarm is disabled, then the central locking would lock the doors when alarm is enabled, until 2 days ago when it just magically all went back to worknig how it should, so the alarm key fob disables the alarm and unlocks the doors and when you turn the engine off, this also relseases the central locking too and is now working fine, is very strnage though, but another item ticked off the fix list.
