Bit of a strange one this, driving back home and the egm comes on, car rapidly decelerates then wont start for about 5 mins, 5 mins down the road sme again, fill up with petrol and im ok for a while same thing happens again, this time it starts instantly. Call the aa out and he messes around with distrubutor cap spark plugs etc takes the sensor of the distrubutor cap and it starts and has run fine since. Got home ran paper clip test showed manifold absolute pressure sensor high voltage any ideas? Running the 8v 1.2 old austin engine not the ecotec

Cheers Guys

As a fully trained technician i have come across this before. Is Your car a single point injection manifold and are you running an induction kit on it? Often if extra air passes through the manifold it can cool the fuel enough to make it freeze. This causes the car to stop. A little while later it will thaw and run again only to stop a little while later. The only real cure is to refit the original induction components or invest in a more refined one!
