My car starts and stops on its own within a few minutes. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I changed my battery when i bought it from a second hand dealer, could the change of battery be causing the problem

if your car is starting and stopping or running on after you turn the ignition on
sounds more like your cylnders are choked with carbon,

how old is your car?

this sounds a bit like mine. mine was the egr valve mate i'd get that checked or check it yourself. i dont know where abouts on the engine it is but its an expensive job so if you can find it thats better.

wont be the imobiliser coz it just would let you start all together,if the imobiliser is faulty the orange engine managment light would just flash when trying to start

thankyou for all your suggestions, took the car to the mechanic, its pointing to either a faulty ECU or camshaft sensor, so they need replacing, unfortunately!
