Hi everyone.

I am looking for the best ways to improve the handling of my corsa. Would you suggest lowering or swapping the srings?

i heard that fitting suspension springs of a 1.7 Diesel and fitting a pair of uprated rear shocks would stiffen up the handling without loosing the ride height, would this work? Or would i be better to just fit sport springs that will reslult in droppin the ride height by 40mm.

your better off lowering it, a 40mm drop would obviosly lower the ride hight and cenetr of gravity by 40mm
i had 40/40 on my corsa b on a full dampers and springs, was a hard ride on a bump road but my god it held the road
almost no body roll,
go for springs and shocks and maybe a anti roll bar (if your car dosnt already have one)

with it being a 1.7diesel there isnt must you can do perfomance wise, since its designed for ecomemy your limited to what you can do
they only real thing you can do to the diesel is turn up the boost on the 1.5td engine since the 1.7 isnt turbocharged ur stumped!

Hi, my car is a 1.2 petrol not a 1.7 deisel, i was told tht springs from a 1.7 deisel would stiffen the ride and improve the handling, i havent got a lot of money available to improve the car and am lookin for a few modifications that will improve the handling and performance levels.

what kind of induction kit would u suggest a purchase? are green cotton filters better than k & n?

ah right, sorry my bad i read what you put wrong!
suspention from a derv is probably stiffer to cope with the added weight of the diesel engine

still your best bet is full suspention kit can get them from ebay for around £200

i have had a K&N 57i induction which sounds nice but dosnt really increase perfomance as all it tends to do is suck in hot air from inside your engine bay,

althought they only seem to be avalable for a renault and arnt cheap

can you raise the standerd back suspension because my wheels rub when 3 people in the car ???

probably be the best way to go, have to make sure you can get as much cold air as you can in to your airbox
(dont take the filter compleatly off as this will bugger up ur fuel injectors!)

where is the best place to find out how to drill the air box? i sthere any special makes of cold air intakes or will just any do the job well?

its for a caviler but its same basic idea

dont forget to reset ur ECU to "learn" mode by disconnecting the battery for about half hour
this way the computer can "learn" that the engine is now getting more air
