chugging when decelerating

O.k, this problem has been annoying me for a while now, when I take my foot off the accelerator the car chugs badly, no matter what gear it is in...

it is a 1.7 diesel

its annoying because its not a slight chug either, its as if I'm slamming my foot on and off the brake when I take my foot off the accelerator...

any idea's what could be causing this as its really irritating? I could understand it happening in 1st and 2nd, but when in 5th its just plain annoying :( I have taken it to be serviced, and they have made no difference what-so-ever, so I'm confused as to what it can be :S

any help is very appreciated!

sometimes if u give it a thrash after about 30 mins of warming up it starts to chug and vibrate and then at top end it gets better but at lower revs is the worst part.

diesel tho so like you said might be faulty glow plugs or thermostat
if the engine isnt warming up enough it will chugg like its going to stall,

if its only when the engine is cold i would deffo say its the plugs
if its when it warmed up maye be thermostat

glow plugs only heat up the engine they dont do anything else so once the engine starts then the turn off. and if it doesnt get enough heat then it only chugs for like 4 seconds before workign normally in my car so it doesnt sound like the glowplugs, if it happens after you take off also, mibby its your air intake or something. when was the airfilter last changed?

thats what i said, if the glow plugs working right it shouldnt chug at all
even if it chuggs for 4 seconds from cold, still a problem with ur glow plugs
