Removing the inside of cat from a 1.2 16v

Hi all,
I was wondering what would the effects + and - of taking the stuff out of the cat in my 1.2 16v and would it be worth it and would it still pass the co2 at the MOT??

yea would fail a MOT emmisions unfortunatly
but it should free up a few hp unfortunatly not really enough to be worth it
a few people i know have replaced the cat with a de-cat pipe and re-catted it when it comes to MOT time
problem is since if ur car is de-catted technicly it wont have a valid MOT and therefor if u have an accdent and ur insurance company found out they woudlnt
pay out any claimes so you could be done for driving without insurance!
if your not botherd about the fact it will fail MOT your best off simply repacing the full exhuast from the manifold all the way back
to a straight thru system (no cat or middle box)
should give you a notable power increase
failing that replace the full system and buy a hi-flow sports cat should give much better results and will pass an MOT

obviosly this kit is more costly than simply repacing with a de-cat pipe
probably be able to squeeze about 10hp with a full system not to mention make ur car sound alot nicer

thanks for the info.
BTW I got red of the 12v blender and got a 12 16v with 42K for £95!! shes a bit quicker and A LOT smoother

aye, get better mods for the 1.2 than the 1.0 as the 1.0i was only a 3 pot coffie machine not alot of perfomance parts avalable
since most manufactures of cars usualy make cars with 4cyl or more engines.
