Pulsing brakes

Hello from the newbie!
I've recently bought a Corsa B and I find when braking I feel a low frequency pulsing from the brake pedal (rather than a juddering) at any speed and only when braking. More obvious at low speeds. There is NO pulsing in the steering wheel.
Am I right in thinking that this maybe warped discs and pads? It has to be braking related as only happens when the brake pedal is pushed so can't be anything to do with the wheel bearings or CV joints? It's got drums ont he back so may be those?
If i'm correct where can I get some quality but cheap dics and pads?
All help appreciated
Ta
Smithy

I had a problem with the drums on the back of mine. Found out by easing on the handbreak a little while driving (not really enough to do any breaking, just so that the shoes made gentle contact), and felt a pulse through that. I changed the drums, but it may be the lip created on the inside which I hear can be sorted with a grinder.

does your corsa have ABS?
if it does usualy the brake peadle will pulse to let you know the ABS system is stopping the wheels from locking
altho it should only do this when you brake hard (to stop you from skidding)
to be honest tho sounds more like you brake discs are warped,
a set of new discs and pads off egay will be about £25 for velco ones
from halfords probably be about £80 and 17years waiting for them to get them in!

Yea...tht sounds like warped discs to me. Take the opportunity to get urself some 2.0l discs and callipers. Find a cav or calibra in the scrappy, and take the lot...usually no more than £30. Sorted!

Thanks for the advice guys, it has in no way any ABS its far too old for that! The pulsing is nothing like ABS kicking in, ABS is much more of a sharper 'judder'. This is more of a pulse.
My problem is working out whether it is coming from the front or back brakes. I will try the handbrake trick to see if that singles out the back brakes.
Interestingly it seemd to be less of the problem when driving in the rain this morning?
Any further suggestion appreciated!

id say font ones, see when your brakes are wet it will lubricate them more so wont viabrate/pulse as much
id say it will be your front discs
