t reg 1.2 16v cutting out plz help!!

hi iam having trouble with my girlfriends t reg 1.2 16v corsa and would be extremely grateful of any help so here goes since we bought the car it dosent idle very well and every time i brake the car cuts i have been trying to find out what is causing this but im having no luck i was told that some valve may be causing this.could anyone tell me what it is and how easy or hard it would be to fix as my girlfriend cant drive the car while its cutting out lol typical woman

Very well could be the idle control valve, wack some carb cleaner on it see what happens and emery cloth the contacts, if not airflow meter are you gettin the engine managment light!?

i havent noticed the engline management light comin on
could you tell me where to locate the idle control valve ?also could it have anything to do with the previous owner only really doin short journeys as someone said this is common when the cars only short journeys as i know the previous owner barely had the car above 30mph lol

have you tried changing the feul filter? if that fails could be the air mass meter, i picked one up off ebay for about 30 quid and fit it in minutes... black tube thing just after your airbox with cable connector.
