anyone know of a good mechanic for a 96 Corsa 1.2 in the Portsmouth area - sick of cowboys pretending to know what they are doing and just charging £50 an hour whilst they drink tea

When cold it is missing on one cylinder, when warm it seems to miss when the accelerator is floored, seems to be hesitant

was similar on one vauxhall astra i had possesion of
does it smoke aswell when floor it?

take it into a garage and ask them to scan the engine and they tell you what wrong with it. eg crank position senser faulty.. it shouldnt cost no more than £30 to scan it.. and also do you have a engine warning light on? if so get it scanned.. you wont be able to scan it your self as the systems cost over £6000+ from snap on and other dealers.

If anyone else has this problem, check out the Camshaft - I had a whole lobe missing!
£300 to fix including all parts and labour and a cambelt change so not too bad!
